How to Upload Shopify Products on Walmart

Great news Shopify sellers! Walmart is now in partnership with the eCommerce shopping platform Shopify, enabling Shopify sellers to apply and sell for Walmart Marketplace. Learn how you can upload your Shopify products on Walmart.

If you are looking for a platform to sell your Shopify products worldwide, then the Walmart Marketplace is the best platform to do so. The new Shopify's Walmart Integration helps Shopify sellers upload their Shopify products on Walmart Marketplace. This partnership will help expand the reach of their participating brands by placing them in front of Walmart Marketplace’s 240 million monthly visitors.

Shopify sellers can sell on Walmart by following these steps:

  1. Add the Walmart Marketplace App (WMA) as a new sales channel in Shopify

  2. Complete the Walmart Marketplace Request to Sell application

  3. Once the application is approved, finish the onboarding steps in Walmart’s Seller Center:

  4. Complete seller profile

  5. Provide shipping and taxation details

  6. Provide details on your returns process

  7. Connect your Walmart Marketplace account in Shopify by logging in with your Walmart Profile details

  8. Sync your product listings and make any necessary adjustments

Now the question is, how can you publish your Shopify products on Walmart?

Here are the steps:

Steps to Publish Shopify Products on Walmart

1. Add Products to the Walmart Marketplace Sales Channel Select all the products that you wish to publish on Walmart. Make sure that they are added to the Walmart Marketplace channel first before they can be published on Walmart.com. To make sure they are added, filter your products by availability codes. If it’s unavailable on Walmart Marketplace, then select the boxes to the left of your desired products, click “More Actions” and choose “Make Product Available” from the dropdown.

2. Set the Categories and Subcategories Select Listings under the Walmart Marketplace heading in Sales Channels. Remember that your products will appear as Unpublished if you don’t set categories. Set the Categories and Subcategories by choosing from the dropdown on the row. You can set them in bulk by selecting the products and then clicking on Edit Category. The Mass Editor screen will open and you can choose the Category and Subcategory for your products. Click OK once done. After that, you can start editing your products in the bulk editor to enrich the content.

3. Enrich the Product Details

To edit your products, select one or more products and click the Edit products or Edit link to the right of an individual product row. Once you are in the WMA Bulk Editor, your products will appear along with all variants and tell you what fields must be set after validation.

The required fields will vary for each category, but will always include these three:

  • Product ID Type

  • Product ID

  • Tax Code

Remember: A product will not save unless all errors are corrected.

Just within the first six weeks after the June 15th partnership announcement last 2020, Walmart’s Marketplace has already added more than 5,000 new sellers into its platform. If you have a Shopify site, selling on Walmart’s website is an excellent opportunity for your business.
